Lets give it a try in English

From now on Rokkikonttori blog will be bi-lingual.

Until today, Rokkikonttori (that’s Rock Office in english) has existed only in Finnish. The main reason for that is that I’ve concentrated mainly on the Finnish rock festivals of which there’s not much point writing in English since the interest is strictly local. In the future I plan to write more and more about foreign bands and Finnish bands that have international potential so it’s a logical step to start writing about them in English. After all, only about 5 million people speak Finnish and maybe some tens of thousands of them are even remotely interested about the topics I write about and some thousands of them find their way here. If there are more potentially interested readers elsewhere why not write for them as well?

The plan is to still keep writing about Finnish festivals and gigs in Finnish but about international acts (the artists in general, their songs and albums) in a more international language. I’m mainly interested in small, upcoming bands. Lets see how it goes. Please forgive me my rusty english at first. My guess is more than half of the content will be in Finnish in the future as well, but we’ll see.

All the English articles can be found by clicking the category “In English” in the side bar. Easy, huh?

Any feedback about anything is always welcome.

P.S. If you have a band that plays indie, electro, post-rock, trip-hop or anything interesting like that and you’d like me to write about you, you can always contact me by e-mail or Twitter. How? See the About page.
